Run For A Chance" will be officially launched on April 27th at Lovely Disabled Home, announcing the annual charity run. Registration is now open to the public. The 8th edition of "Run for A Chance" combines both on-field and virtual runs to allow more people and local individuals with disabilities to participate, aiming to showcase Lovely Disabled Home's mission of promoting awareness of the needs of people with disabilities to the wider community.

The charity run will take place from National Day on August 31, 2024, to Malaysia Day on September 16, 2024, with an online run where participants can complete a 3-kilometer run at any time, anywhere. The on-field run will be held on Malaysia Day 2024, September 16, at Kuala Lumpur's Kepong Metropolitan Park.

Registration for "Run for A Chance" is open until July 31, with a registration fee of RM75. Early bird registration before May 31 offers a discounted rate of RM60. To encourage more individuals with disabilities to participate, those joining the physical run will have their registration fees waived, sponsored by Persatuan Kasih Sayang. For the online run, individuals with disabilities can register at a discounted rate of RM35.

Lovely Disabled Home, established in 2005, is a non-governmental and non-profit disability centre now in its 19th year. The centre's goal is to provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities. In recent years, the number of members working at Lovely Disabled Home has increased from 6 to 70 in 2024, highlighting the centre's significant social responsibility. The purpose of organizing the charity run is to raise funds of RM300,000 for operations in 2025.

Apart from fundraising, the event also promotes Lovely Disabled Home's self-created sock brand - LDH Socks. Launched in 2015, the brand provides stable employment opportunities for workshop members to enhance their quality of life.

"Run for A Chance" at Kepong Metropolitan Park offers beautiful scenery and fresh air, welcoming friends, family, and colleagues to join the run. Supporters of the virtual run are not limited by location and can register from anywhere. The previous three editions of the online run attracted participants from the United States, New Zealand, Taiwan, Singapore, and other places.

We call on everyone to lead their colleagues or invite friends to participate in "Run for A Chance." Whether online or physical, let's promote disability awareness together - let's run for a chance!
